Choosing the Right Window for Your House

For those who like to purchase property to build your house, this blog might come in handy - especially if you live in the San Diego area. It might seem like little details are nothing to worry about, but the reality is for those who know construction, know that everything and even the smallest detail is taken into account. For some, windows might not be a big thing when looking at the overall house. For others, everything including the windows are a major part of the overall plan for the house. In fact, I had a professional company review the floor plans with me, make very valuable suggestions to make my final decision an easy one.

Now, I’ll tell you why windows should be very important to anyone building their house. Every day there are break-in all over the country, accidents of all kinds that have effects on windows and natural disasters. So why not have a company that offers 24 hours of emergency window services? After all, the worst scenarios to fix are the ones that are labeled as “emergency”.  So why not involve a company with experiences with emergencies to help you through your decisions regarding the windows to your house? Another upside to this is that they can have you on file and in case an emergency happens, they already have you and all your information.

So, if you live in San Diego and are in the process of building your house – keep in mind 24 hour Emergency Glass Service.  They are professionals that have the experience necessary to guide and suggest what’s best for your house.  Plus, you have the huge upside that if there’s an emergency regarding a window(s) in your house, you’ll feel safe that you already have a company you can trust and that will work around the clock to complete the task.

The Nerd at the Gym

I love family gatherings because my cousin, a personal trainer, always brings the funniest stories to share with us.  Recently, he told us about this really scrawny guy who had started coming to the gym on a regular basis.  At first, he followed my cousin’s advice and increased his weight-lifting gradually.  But one day, a beautiful girl walked into the gym and the nerd wanted to impress her.  He ran to his locker and came out with his tiny muscles all oiled up. He then grabbed a hundred-pound barbell and attempted to lift it over his head. The barbell slipped and crashed into the window – shattering it to pieces. Luckily, no one was hurt and even the nerd eventually though it was funny, but the gym had to cordon off the area and call an emergency glass replacement service.

The nerd made several mistakes that day. First of all, he tried to lift something that was way too heavy for him without a spotter.  Secondly, his hands were oily.  He should have washed them and then used powder or chalk to make sure he could get a good grip.   He literally paid for his error by footing the bill for the emergency glass replacement.  The repair company came quickly to board up the area and clean up the shards.  They returned after hours to replace the window, and the next day the gym looked good as new.

It took a few days for the nerd to work up the courage to return to the gym.  The trainers teased him about the whole incident and he earned a new nickname: the Incredible Hulk. With my cousin’s help, he learned how to train safely and properly. Within a year, he had built up a lot of muscle and loved his new look, but he could never enter the gym without thinking about the glass replacement incident.

No Sports in the House, Please!

There is no shortage of measurements that one can take to prevent accidents happening around the house, especially when you have twin boys running around the house.  My family just moved to San Diego, California – bought a lovely house that we fell in love with from the start.

Well, everything was going great until I decided to get my boys baseball equipment to play outside the house, yet little did I know that I was in for a treat.  One sunny day, I go off to work only to come back and find that not one, but two windows had been shattered by a baseball.  This was only the day after I had gotten my boys the baseball equipment, so you can imagine that I wasn’t in the best of moods! The only thing that had me pleased was that the laminated glass had actually worked – it held together as oppose to breaking into little pieces.

It was late in the afternoon and just thought that I would have to wait until the morning to get someone to fix my windows.  Then, it happened, I received a call from my brother who has lived in San Diego for quite some time now.  I explained what happened and fortunately for me, he knew just the experts to call at that time.  I then proceeded to call 24 hour Emergency Glass and before I knew it they were at my house ready to get to work.

It wasn’t long before they finished and I must say that they did a great job.  Not only did they install the new windows, but they also gave me advice for upgrades around the house; you never know when those advices might come in handy! As for my two boys, well, let’s just say that they won’t be seeing a baseball for a while!
