Window Replacement

It was a beautiful day last Tuesday in San Diego. The weather temperature was at around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and my neighbors across my house were having a family get-together. Their kids brought out their inflatable pool to swim into their front yard. I decided to come out, bring a chair and sip on a delicious watermelon and peppermint smoothie while I people-watched. Some other kids from the neighborhood were playing softball on the street and all I kept thinking was “Please do not throw a ball towards the kids in the pool”; they were much smaller than them. It was Tommy’s turn to bat and as usually as he does, he hit a strike straight towards my front window. It broke in a thousand pieces, there was no way to repair it; I needed a window replacement.

There was no way I could delay taking care of this but it was a Sunday and I was afraid I was not going to find an immediate solution. As it was my front window that got broken, my house was at risk of getting broken into. I searched for emergency glass repair/replacement in the area and I was able to find a company that offered 24 hour services 7 days a week 365 days a year! “Now that’s true passion” I thought. I couldn’t imagine myself owning a business that never closed. It must take some excellent management skills.

I was able to get my window replacement in no time. Sarah (Tommy’s mom), came to apologize right away and politely offered to cover the expense. What’s funny is that when the incident happened the kids that were playing softball all ran away as if I wouldn’t remember who they were, silly kids! I laughed hard, as I’ve known most of these kids since they were born and know their family pretty well. I couldn’t take a picture of the little menaces but I did take a picture of the kids in the pool. Oh what a sweet summer this is!
